New Apartments Open In The South End!

FSS Workshops From THE Center!

The staff at THE Center (formerly the WAGE Center) partnered with SEFCU to provide a financial literacy workshop for Family Self Sufficiency program members.  The workshop looked at topics such as how to improve your credit, how credit scores are determined and how to use credit wisely.  This workshop was the first in a series of workshops to be provided.  If you would like more information on how to participate in the Family Self Sufficiency program and have access to various services to support your goals contact THE Center at 380-5600.

Thursday, December 12th 9:30-11 am Grant Writing Basics In this workshop, Joan Oliver – a veteran grant specialist with over $18 million in public and private funds secured – will present an overview of the qualifications and steps involved in applying for grants. She’ll provide information on determining grant “readiness,” types of grants, prospect research (methods to identify potential funding sources), proposal components, and how to frame your request. Beginning Saturday, January 25th Business Planning Course Learn what you need to know to start and run a successful small business with this intensive eight session training course offered in partnership with the Huether School of Business of The College of Saint Rose. NYSPHADA Increases Scholarship

NYSPHADA is Proud to announce that the 5th annual college scholarship has been increased to $2,500.00 and will be awarded to a deserving youth currently residing in a NYSPHADA member agency.

Any high school senior who is preparing to enter higher level learning will be eligible for this scholarship.

The Scholarship due date is February 28, 2014.
