* June is Homeownership Month.  Celebrate by attending Homebuyer 101.
In May over 100 prospective homeowners attended the orientation and over 100 are signed up for June 7.  First time buyers get an unbiased overview of the homebuying process, grant programs, and more at this free workshop. Thinking about becoming a landlord?  Would you like to be a better one or know someone who should?  Learn effective, professional property management practices at a workshop on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at 5:30 pm at 255 Orange Street, in Albany. Own a home for less than renting. The Community Land Trust helps families buy and repair an affordable home. The program now offers $30,000 to eligible participants to buy and fix a home in City of Albany. Contact the Community Land Trust at 426-1296.

The Capital District HomeSave Coalition offers FREE assistance to homeowners facing difficulty with their mortgage. The sooner you act, the more options you have. Contact our skilled HUD-certified advisor at 434-1730.

* Credit Scores Matter  
It pays to have a higher credit score. Stop by the Washington Ave Albany library on the fourth Friday of the month (June 24) from 11:30 to 1:30 for a free one to one credit review, and get advice on repairing your credit score.   Or sign up for our homebuyer Money Strategies class to increase your financial knowledge and learn about credit scores, debt reduction, scams, and achieving your financial goals. * Sheridan Hollow Opportunity Area
