Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan, Albany Housing Authority Chair Michael Whalen Announce Appointment of Chiquita D’Arbeau as New Executive Director

ALBANY, NY – Today, Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan and Albany Housing Authority Chair Michael Whalen announced the appointment of Chiquita D’Arbeau as the new Executive Director of the Albany Housing Authority. Chiquita will succeed Steve Longo as Executive Director at the time of his retirement later this summer.

Chiquita is a highly experienced affordable housing professional who was selected as the next Executive Director of the Albany Housing Authority after a thorough, nationwide search.
Chiquita has worked with the Albany Housing Authority since 1999 in several roles, including as Housing Eligibility Assistant and Housing Authority Inspector, Employee Relations Manager and Executive Assistant, Director of Human Resources and Customer Relations, and most recently as the Deputy Director. Prior to her work with the Albany Housing Authority, Chiquita also worked with the Arbor Hill Development Corporation, the Minneapolis Public Housing Authority, and the St. Paul Public Housing Agency.
